Healthy Homes Standard December 1st 2020 Deadline
Happy Spring time from RobsonKerr Property Management Limited.
With a busy end of year to follow an equally busy winter in 2020!
Auckland has made it through various Alert Level Changes to settle in Alert Level 1. Allowing Aucklanders some longed for socialising, opportunities to get out and about and share New Zealand again.
Our improved Alert Levels also bring an end to the rent increase freeze as of 25 September 2020 which will see rent reviews across our properties and is now limited to 12 monthly under the new Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 2020.
In depth information on the changes inside the Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 2020 can be found by following the link below;
Another up coming date will be the first deadline for the Healthy Homes Standards which takes affect on 1 December 2020 and means all Landlords will be required to include a statement of their current level of compliance with Healthy Homes Standards in any updated or new Tenancies.
RobsonKerr Property Management Limited include in our Tenancy Agreements a Healthy Homes Compliance Statement, Insurance Statement, Insulation Statement, explicit information for our Tenants on what is required of them under the Residential Tenancy Act and detailed instructions on how to read their Tenancy Agreement to ensure a full understanding of expectations between ourselves and our Tenants and improve successful communication.

It will be an intriguing time ahead following the outcome of this Election with some interesting promises from our political parties in regards to The Residential Tenancy Act, Healthy Homes Legislation beefed up enforcement and the potential for industry regulation and Warrant of Fitness on rental homes……..
Stay tuned for updates as they become available on how our Property Management landscape changes for Landlords and Tenants.
