Tenancy Laws are changing

Tenancy Laws are changing

We’ve made it to warmer weather, Christmas Trees and Tinsel.

Along with Christmas planning and anticipation for sunny New Zealand holidays Tenancy Laws are also changing.

Already rent increases are limited to once every 12 months and notice periods for tenants to terminate periodic tenancies will be increased from 21 days to 28 days from 11 February 2021.

Other important changes include provisions for security of rental tenure and changes for fixed-term tenancies.

For more detail on the changes and how they might affect your plans in the coming year give us a bell.

Happy nearly holidays from the team at RobsonKerr Property Management Limited.
